1 tbspcorn meal15 mL
2 cupscooked white pea beans, mashed500 mL
1/2 cupbrown rice, cooked125 mL
1/2 cupsunflower seeds, coarsely chopped125 mL
1/2 cupprepared chunky salsa, mild or hot125 mL
1green onion, chopped1
1 tbspcanola oil15 mL
1 tbspchili powder15 mL

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush a cookie sheet with canola oil and dust with the cornmeal. Set aside. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Divide the mixture into six portions. On a piece of wax paper or foil, shape each portion into a round or oblong patty. Pick up wax paper and flip patty onto baking sheet. Repeat with remaining mixture. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden. Serve on a bun, top with salsa and your favourite toppings.
