1can (14oz./398 mL) Beans in Tomato Sauce1
1/2 cupketchup or tomato sauce125 mL
1/2 tspgarlic salt2 mL
1/4 tsporegano or cumin1 mL
1-2 tspchili powder5-10 mL
4 cupsshredded lettuce1 L
Optional garnishes:
1green pepper, diced1
1tomato, diced1
3green onions, sliced3
1 cupgrated cheddar cheese250 mL
2 cupscroutons, corn chips or broken tortilla chips500 mL
1avocado, diced1
1/2 cupsliced olives125 mL

Mix beans, ketchup, garlic salt, oregano or cumin, and chili powder in a bowl. Chill until serving time. Arrange lettuce on a large platter or individual plates. Spoon bean mixture over the top. Garnish with any selection of optional garnishes. Serve as a side salad or with crusty bread as a meal.
