Mexicana Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (450 g)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes (796 mL)
  • 1 1/2 cups chunky salsa (375 mL)
  • 1 (12 oz) can corn niblets, drained (341 mL)
  • 1 (19 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed  (540 mL)
  • 1/4 cups fresh cilantro, chopped (50 mL)
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce (375 mL)
  • dash salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp ground cumin (5 mL)

Instructions

In a medium frying pan, cook ground beef with onions and garlic over medium-high heat until beef is browned. Drain excess juice.

Put beef into slow cooker. Add rest of ingredients and stir until mixed.

Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
