Berry Fruity Black Bean Smoothie

This “Berry” Fruity Black Bean Smoothie was the winning contest entry from our Make Your New Year Better with Beans smoothie recipe contest in 2021. It’s a super simple smoothie filled with the goodness of fruit and black beans, and sweetened with maple syrup.
- 1/2 cup black beans
- 3/4 cup frozen pineapple
- 1/2 cup frozen raspberry
- 1/2 cup frozen sliced strawberry
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
Put all ingredients in blender and blend well (1-3 minutes) to ensure beans and fruit are all blended well. If it is too thick add more water.
This is also great as a frozen treat!
